memory and color
In this section of chapter 9 I learned some new things about how we perceive color. Things we are familiar with and we know the color of such as a red apple or a yellow banana we see as the color being more vibrant as opposed to unfamiliar objects that reflect the same wave lengths. The book also said that even if common fruits are shown as grey against a grey background of the same shade people perceive the fruits as slightly colored. This is because they are so familiar with the fruits and their colors, they know what color they should be this changes their perception. This I found very interesting since we have been learning about the eye. I would assume that the perception of color I have talked about above would occur in the brain and not in the eye itself.
