childhood schizophrenia

Schizophrenia has always interested me. I came across a tv show about one of the youngest child ever to be diagnosed with childhood-onset schizophrenia. Michael and Susan Schofields live with their child January who was diagnosed at the age of 3 with childhood-onset schizophrenia. This story interested me because January experiences violent hallucinations in the form of numbers and animals that tell her to hurt her brother and parents. It was apparent from the beginning of when January was a baby that there was something not right, but doctors and friends told The Schofields that what she was doing was normal.  As January grows so does her schizophrenia. Making taking care of her harder and also a constant change in medication.  This story really interests me and I couldn’t even imagine having to live with someone so young with such a severe case of schizophrenia.  I have a link that will take you to several of januarys videos from the tv show. It is very disturbing to me to see such a young girl with such horrible schizophrenia.
