Presbyopia

Another saying for presbyopia is the "old eye". In these cases, it causes a person to see distance of a near point being increased because of the hardening of the lens and the weakening of the cilary muscles. This is something that is not a disease and cannot be prevented. It tends to happen during the mid-40's and will gradually get worse. People tend to realize they are suffering from this when they have to hold the paper really far away in order for them to read. The only way to compensate presbyopia is with reading glasses to help you see your material much better. Here is a funny song about presbyopia :)
