I recently stumbled upon a commercial geared towards educating the public about being aware of cyclists. The video is a perfect example of change blindness. There are 21 differences between the original shot of all of the suspects and the ending shot when the murderer is revealed. When I first watched the video I did not notice a single difference since I was busy focusing on the suspects. I like the fact that the use of change blindness is utilized in this example to show motorists how easy it is to miss what you are not intentionally looking for,

  1. This is called changed blindness! Our mind only focuses on the things we deem to be important! Isn't it incredible the things we aren't aware of!
