The Science of Falling in "Love"

Pheromones are chemical signals that are released to attract the opposite sex to mate for sexual reproduction. Unlike hormones, they act as messengers go potential mates. They were first discovered in insects. They can be found in glands in our armpits, genital regions, and navels which secretes a clear liquid. What you might think is love, might actually be some pheromones! Click on the video below to learn a little bit more about them and how they play a role in a persons life!

  1. When I first learned about pheromones' I thought it was very interesting. Although, after some thought it made a lot more sense considering there is an entire industry around cologne and perfume. One question that I always wondered was why does perfume and cologne work so well but does not resemble the human smell at all. I only assume that similar to what we read, that certain smells might be low level or covert to the point they don't elicited a conscious reaction but would invoke a physical one.
